This site http://www.iz2.or.jp/english/index.htm is a Japanese costume museum site from Japan (in English) which has recreations of Japanese clothes from several different historical periods in great detail. Click on "Costume History in Japan" and the select the different eras from the sidebar. They have both costumes on dolls, and drawings to show the costumes from different angles.
